IPL 2016: HC permits BCCI to hold May 1 IPL match in Pune 'Watch online cricket'

(TOI Photo) MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday allowed BCCI to hold the May 1 IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants in Pune, days after it requested moving to different venues all post-April 30 matches arranged in dry season hit Maharashtra.

A division seat of judges V M Kanade and M S Karnik allowed the consent while listening to an application recorded by BCCI's general administrator (amusements improvement) Ratnakar Shetty asking the court to give the cricket a chance to body hold the May 1 IPL match as booked in Pune.

The application had been documented after a request went by the high court on April 12 coordinating for all IPL matches from April 30 onwards to be moved out of Maharashtra because of the extreme dry spell circumstance in the state.

By the High Court arrange, a sum of 13 matches were to be moved to different states.

Shetty, in his application, looked for the court to concede consent to permit the cricket board to hold the May 1 match in Pune between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants as they would not have the capacity to make plans to move the match in a solitary day. As per the application, the Pune group is booked to play a match against Gujrat Lions on April 29 in Pune, and thus, it is "for all intents and purposes outlandish" for BCCI and the Pune establishment to move the May 1 match to another venue outside Maharashtra and "make all plans for the same in only a solitary day".

The High Court in the wake of listening to the contentions of BCCI permitted the application and said this was as an "exception".Shetty's application expressed that its solicitation is "true blue and is being made in light of a legitimate concern for equity" and if the court does not allow alleviation then serious bias, grave hardship and unsalvageable harm and damage will be brought on to BCCI and the Pune establishment.

The application further expressed that if the May 1 match is moved to any venue outside the state then the colleagues and its team can travel just toward the evening of April 30 as the match on April 29 will get over just late in the night.
